Why Video Works

Making Video Work For You In New Orleans

Video works for several reason.

Video is universal. Most of us watch videos online everyday. We just don’t think about how novel this experience was just a few short years ago.

With the explosion of smartphones like the iPhone and Android, as well as the iPad video is at everyone’s fingertips.  No downloads, no special links, and no software to download.

This means your message could be out there in a matter of minutes to millions of viewers. Realistically, in your specific realm, city, or industry, you just need a few hundred viewers. With enough attention and and audience, you can begin to penetrate your specific market.

Most of us are busy. It is not so much that we are lazy and shiftless. We have too many things going on – work, school, picking up and dropping off children to school, dinner to prepare, grocery shopping.  We haven’t even began to talk about extra-curricular activities. We JUST DON’T HAVE TIME anymore to slow down. If you want to get your message across, you have to do it quickly. Video can do that.

A majority of businesspeople surveyed by Forbes in October 2010 said they watched more online video than a year earlier.

Nearly 60% of all respondents said they would watch video before reading text on the same webpage, and 22% said they generally liked watching video more than reading text for reviewing business information.

Three-quarters of all executives said they watched work-related videos on business websites at least once a week, and more than half did the same on YouTube.

Video ranks very well in the search engines. So well, entire systems have been designed and courses created to teach people like me and you to do it successfully everyday.

A study performed by the Forrester Research Group actually found that video was 50 times more likely to land on the first page of the search engines – specifically Google.

With a little keyword research, time and effort, it is not unrealistic to find your business on the front page of Google’s search engine – especially using local keywords.
